Battery pack customization: 30 frequently asked questions

From selection, samples, certification and transport to BMS, form factor, chemistry, lead time and the cooperation process, here are thirty common questions answered in line with the facts already published on the site, so you can settle the key points before you enquire.

What are the common questions on selection and samples?

What kinds of battery packs can you make?
We design and manufacture custom battery packs across lithium-ion, sodium-ion and solid-state routes, in prismatic, cylindrical and pouch form factors, built to your product needs.
What if I do not know which chemistry to choose?
Just tell us the application, runtime or standby requirement, temperature, installation size, charge/discharge frequency and target cost, and we pick the more cost-effective option from the three routes.
How are voltage and capacity decided?
Voltage follows your device power rail, and capacity is worked back from the runtime or standby target. Give us the rail and the runtime, and we confirm the series/parallel layout and the capacity plan.
Can the pack be built to our device dimensions?
Yes. Provide the three-dimensional limits of the bay, the interface form and the weight limit, and we complete the form factor and structure to production requirements.
Can you handle small batches?
Yes. There is no minimum order quantity, and we handle everything from small batches to large volume, including multiple models in parallel.
How is the sample cost charged?
The cost of samples and test data is confirmed against the specific model and quantity, and the plan moves forward once confirmed with you — no blanket promise.
How do samples stay consistent with production?
Samples are made to the production technical requirements and inspection standards from the start, so production quality stays consistent with the sample you approved.
How long does the sample take?
It depends on the model and how complex the structure is. The more complete your information, the easier the sample cycle is to pin down, and schedule-sensitive projects can be discussed ahead.
Can you provide test data?
Yes, samples and test data can be provided as needed, with the cost confirmed against the specific model and quantity, and the items agreed with you before we proceed.
How many years of experience do you have?
The company was founded in 2007, with 19 years in the battery industry and several thousand different battery pack designs developed to date.
What is the customization process?
We start with requirements and selection, confirm samples, then move to mass production and delivery — design, manufacturing and delivery are handled by one team.
Do you support both OEM and ODM?
Yes. We provide OEM / ODM services to B2B customers worldwide, designing the solution to your product needs and delivering the finished pack.
Can we talk if my requirements are not complete yet?
Yes. State the application, end product, voltage, capacity and environment as far as you can, and we will fill in the gaps together as we talk.
Can the connection be built to our interface?
Yes. Provide the connector, lead or tab specification and we confirm it as part of the structural design.
How do I choose the form factor?
Prismatic, cylindrical and pouch are the three options, matched to your space, interface and structural needs, with the choice made from your operating conditions.

What are the common questions on certification, transport, BMS and the cooperation process?

Which certifications have you passed?
The company holds product certifications including CE, IEC 62133, UL 2054, RoHS and REACH, and has export transport compliance documents such as the UN38.3 test report, air and sea transport identification reports and MSDS.
How is certification handled?
Applicable items are confirmed per target market and model: existing certificates and reports are provided directly, and additional items are handled by us with the plan confirmed with you.
Who bears the certification cost?
After we review the applicable items against your market and model, the plan and arrangement are confirmed with you before we proceed, with the cost depending on the project.
Which transport documents does a lithium-ion export need?
Confirmed per market and model, we can provide the UN38.3 test report and summary, air and sea transport identification reports, MSDS and the 1.2 m drop test report.
How is shipping arranged?
Shipping is flexible: nominate your own forwarder, or ask us to arrange the forwarder for export — the two can be combined to fit your process.
Will the BMS talk to my system?
Tell us the system interface, the communication method (for example CAN / RS485) and the protocol parameters, and we confirm the BMS configuration so nothing fails to connect after installation.
What protections does the BMS provide?
The BMS provides over-charge, over-discharge, over-current and short-circuit protection, with thresholds matched to your duty and settled at the selection stage.
Can state of charge and status be reported?
Yes. Tell us the communication method and the content to report, and we confirm it as part of the BMS configuration.
How do I choose among LFP, NCM and LCO?
It follows your operating conditions: each chemistry has its own energy, cycle and temperature character, and we recommend the right one from those.
What scenarios suit sodium-ion packs?
Sodium-ion packs fit energy storage, low-speed mobility, power tools, backup and emergency power, and starter and outdoor power, matched to your operating conditions.
What scenarios suit solid-state packs?
Solid-state packs are assessed against your operating conditions and suit applications with higher energy and safety demands, confirmed from your requirements.
How is the lead time decided?
Lead time is confirmed by model, quantity and production planning; schedule-sensitive projects can be planned ahead, and large orders are delivered to the agreed rhythm.
Can you deliver large orders steadily?
Yes. With a 10,000 m²+ plant, 15 production lines and an annual capacity of 5 million packs, we can also run multiple models in parallel, with production and lead time discussed ahead.
How do I start an enquiry?
Send us the application and end product, voltage and capacity, charge/discharge requirements, environment, form factor and mounting, target market and annual volume, and we will return a selection and cost proposal from them.
How long does a quote take?
It depends on how complete your information is: the more complete, the faster the selection and cost proposal, with any gaps filled in as we talk.
